Security
End-to-End Encryption
When you set a password, Connectea never sees it. Encryption happens on your device — the server only ever sees ciphertext.
- AES-256-GCM with a fresh 12-byte IV per 10 MB chunk
- PBKDF2-SHA-256 key derivation, 100,000 iterations
- Password and key never leave your device unless you share them
- SHA-256 hash of plaintext content verified after download
- Permission changes revoke access in real time
- No account database — identity is just a session token tied to a name
- No adware, no bundles, no mining, no ad telemetry. The installer contains only Connectea.
